Boo for crappy cameras...

I haven't posted anything in a while...but here's something! The Tardis in charcoal :D Took me about 8 or 9 hours.

Suck it, learning curve

I did it. I bought markers. And I never thought I'd say this, but I'm already addicted. I only bought a small set of neutral gray Copics, but I love them. I will most definitely be in the market for more. Or all of them. There are over 350 colors...and they're about $6 a marker. It didn't take me long to get acquainted, but I still need some practice. Anyway, here is my FIRST piece of Copic art.

Granted, I did borrow (NO, I didn't trace) the pose from a book. I needed SOMETHING to practice my coloring on.

Just sketchin'

Bleh. So my trip to the Renaissance Festival was cancelled. I'm pretty sad that I won't be able to make it this year. That was the only thing I had to look forward to for my Spring Break. Meh. I guess saving some money is a plus...except that I used that money to buy myself a small set of Copic markers. They're pretty expensive, but completely worth it.

Sigh. Back to work on Tuesday. Until then, I guess I'll draw/read/sleep unless I decide to leave my house to interact with...people.

Anyway, here's a sketch I did today when I was at my sister's house. Trying to work on making people look more realistic...I'm going to go read myself to sleep now -_-

Samus Aran...

...or at least my interpretation. I think she looks better with the helmet off, but that's just me.

I needed practice drawing people, so, I decided on someone cool, like Samus. I didn't want a really distracting background, especially since this is all in pencil. Perhaps when I get the right materials, I'll color it one day. It's an 18 x 24", took me like twenty god damned hours, and I'm still finding things I want to fix.

Portrait of a Zombie

My second zombie post. I've become really obsessed with The Walking Dead lately, which has prompted me to start reading the comics.

Sigh. I don't know why I read comics. Looking at comic book art both discourages me and motivates me at the same time. Guh. Art makes me want to throw things. Especially bad art, but we'll talk about that later.

Visual texture!

Here's something I did for a project for my design class. Basically we had to pick something and draw it with copious amounts of visual texture. I'm a huge nerd (as most of you probably know), and I chose to draw an Xbox controller. I realize that the handles on the left view aren't perfectly symmetrical, but you know what...I wanted it that way. Actually, no...by the time I realized my mistake, I had already started to ink it in. Damn.

Anyway, for those of you who actually read my blog and have Xbox Live, add me! My gamertag is QuietCrusader.

Blue

I did this a while ago, back when I was feeling a little sad. Being sad sucks, but it really does wonders when it comes to art and literature. Done all in Photoshop, took about 4 hours. :)
